New Student Orientation
Orientation Leader Applications are now live!
Orientation Leaders serve incoming new students and families during the First Day in Friartown program (June Orientation) and Fall Orientation. OLs provide an energic and welcoming first experience for freshman and transfer students by leading small groups, providing insight into the academic experience and registration process, and developing impactful connections.
The New Student Checklist is a comprehensive guide for incoming students. It provides a list of all tasks that must be completed by an incoming student before their first day of classes. Under each task, you will find a detailed explanation of how to complete each requirement and a point of contact to reach out to if you have any challenges while completing it.
First Day in Friartown is a one-day program required for all new students, including first-year and transfer students, and residential and commuter students.
New students will learn about academic, spiritual, and student life while building connections with peers, upper-class student leaders, and PC staff. Students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and develop their fall academic schedule. Parents and families are invited to participate in a concurrent program.
Pre-orientation programs allow new students to move in early and connect with a small cohort of peers. They are a great experience for anyone looking to make friends, learn about campus, and engage in the community in a more intimate environment.
Fall Orientation begins directly following move-in. Students will engage with fellow new students, experience signature social programming, participate in educational workshops, meet with faculty, and learn about Providence College traditions. Fall Orientation features such signature Providence College traditions as the Fall Involvement Festival, Class of 2028 trip to Newport, Welcome Mass, Introduction to the Development of Western Civilization Program, Welcome to the Friar Family, Class of 2028 photo, and more.
